Thursday,  May 28th Update

Dear Church Family,

We will not be "reopening" for regular church services this Sunday.  After doing an Internet search over the past hour the only specific I could find relating specifically to churches is that we are now allowed to have gatherings of "up to ten" people.  That certainly does not allow us the freedom to have a regular service.  So we will continue with the YouTube streaming until futher notice.

I am hoping that state officials will consider a "graduated attendence" reopening plan, perhaps beginning with 25 or 50% of our  "Certificate of Occupancy" rating, which is 215 in the auditorium.  That would allow for 53 and and 107.  Pray for this to happen!

The most discouraging thing to me is the fact that churches, or "religious gatherings" don't even appear anywhere on the Governor's "Four Phases" reopening plan.  After a reporter asked the Governor a question in Buffalo on March 18th regarding religious gatherings, one of the Governor's panel members said churches are viewed that same as other "mass gatherings,"  like a sporting event.   As of today the only wording that appears under Phase Four is "Arts, Entertainment, Recreation and Education."

The most encouraging news today is several religious leaders have had new conferences themselves.  They are calling attention to the issue.  With news coverage this should get state officials attention, and hopefully some reasonable action from them.

Now is the time read Hebrews 12.1-3, and not "faint in your minds" (grow weary and lose heart).  Things are improving, and we have hope for a return to normalcy soon.  What we are enduring is only a drop in the bucket to what Christ endured for us !

I miss you all !  Sincerely in Christ- Pastor Ford

Welcome to Angelica Baptist Church! Thanks for checking out our site. We are a group of imperfect people, trying to do what we believe God wants us to do. We think that God and His Word are real and relevant. We try to base our lives and church ministry on what He says in the Bible.

We intend to be a friendly, family-oriented, Christ-centered group of believers  (see About Us).

For a smaller church of about 100, we are an active church with a variety of ministries and a good missions program (see Ministries and Missions). We recognize our need for improvement and are constantly working on that. One area of recent focus is our community relations (see Community).

We believe in John 3:16- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
That’s God’s heart and the heart of our message.

Our five-fold mission is delineated by an acronym of “W-O-R-L-D":

W- Worshiping God
O- Obeying His Word
R- Reaching the lost
L- Loving each other
D- Discipling believers.

Last year God gave us some new faces from Angelica that became a part of our church family. We are hoping, praying, and working for more in 2020. We invite you to attend a Morning Service in person and see for yourself what we are. It’s better to draw your own conclusions than to go by secondhand information. Visitors usually find us to be friendly and feel right at home. We look forward to meeting you.

Come and grow with us!

David Ford, Pastor
